An autonomous WordPress publishing and management system

An ongoing WordPress plugin experiment in combining external sources, language models and site-management tools to automate publishing and maintenance.

Technical sketch of source documents feeding a publishing mechanism and linked web pages.

Overview

I started this project to explore how much of a WordPress website could be managed by an LLM agent. The long-term goal is a site that can collect information from external sources, turn useful material into articles and look after its own publishing and maintenance.

The plugin began with internal-link suggestions and grew into a wider set of editorial and management tools. It now includes an Idea Journal, source ingestion, staged drafting, publishing controls, semantic search and internal linking, along with an MCP interface for external agents. Much of the work has been experimental: building a feature, seeing what the operational problems look like and refining the workflow.

Content creation is only part of the project. Automated internal linking has become one of the most interesting areas: vector matching and language models help find relevant relationships and adapt surrounding text so links fit naturally. The system records direct changes so they can be undone. I am still assessing its effect on a site's performance.

Some experiments have not stayed in the plugin. The video builder could render without a GPU, but saturated the server CPU and affected other sites, so I removed it and started extracting the work into a separate project. The broader goal remains ongoing rather than a claim that the site can operate without oversight.
